Today I am writing to you on a cold, windy autumn day – the kind of day that makes you want to curl up on the sofa next to a blazing fireplace! However, I know that many of you are working long hours and are just happy to hit the pillow at the end of the day. The second wave of COVID-19 is looking to be in full swing by mid-autumn. Please be safe and don’t let your guard down. Take social distancing and PPE seriously! OSNM is an organization that deeply values learning, and I have been reflecting on what lessons we have learned during this time of crisis. This pandemic has changed our work and home landscapes immeasurably. Will one of the lessons learned be that we can stay connected and supportive of one another just as well virtually as in person? I do believe so and that we, as compassionate and enthusiastic Nutrition Managers, will continue to reach out to support or to ask for support – via phone, email, texts and virtual conferencing. Do not keep yourself siloed. We have all heard stories of resil- ience and compassionate initiatives. What have you been involved with? Could you share them with us on our Facebook page? Speaking of virtual conferences, stay tuned! Your Board is in the throes of planning a spectacular on- line conference for January 2021. We will be releasing the date and details soon. Pat Sylvain, BA, CNM Business Development Manager, Complete Purchasing President
