The Village at University Gates and the Centre of Excellence in Aging opened in August of 2015.

The Centre of Excellence includes Ontario’s first purpose-built teaching long-term care (LTC) home which is connected to a research and training building (the RIA building). The 192-bed LTC home operates as one of the Schlegel Villages (The Village at University of Gates) and all revenue over cost will be donated back into research activities. The RIA building is home to RIA team members, faculty and labs.

These buildings were designed with learning, research and social spaces that encourage co-mingling of older adults, students, educators and researchers. They are also home to University of Waterloo and Conestoga College programs for learning and applied research related to seniors care and living.

Our tour will include a close up look at the Research Institute for Aging Labs, The Conestoga College University Gates Campus for RPN and PSW programs as well as a tour of the University Gates Long Term Care Home.

Please RSVP to lplein@knollcrestlodge.com by Monday November 27th.
Parking is limited and Becky ask that you park at the Y across the street.  Car pooling is encouraged

Looking forward to seeing you,
